Jet is a flight simulator originally published in 1985 by subLOGIC

Summary

This video game was based on subLOGIC's classic Flight Simulator. The player may choose either an F-16 Fighting Falcon for land missions or an F-18 Hornet for missions starting at sea from an aircraft carrier. The player can also practice flying and aerobatics in "free flight" mode, dogfight against Soviet MiGs, launch strikes against land or sea based targets, watch a demo, or load a subLOGIC scenery disk. For either combat mode, the player can to select which missiles and bombs the plane will have.

Most of the indicators on a real jet fighter are present in Jet: altimeter, heading, frame loading, gear status, brake status, fuel level, radar, attitude, and range. The player can turn a few of these on and off. The controls consist of either the joystick or numeric keypad for steering and other keys to handle the chosen optional indicators, landing gear, weapons, and a eject button. Different perspectives can be chosen - a view from the control tower instead of the jet's cockpit.

Description from the packaging:

Fly an F-16 Fighting Falcon, the most advanced tactical fighter aircraft in the world. Or put yourself at the controls of a carrier-based F-18 Hornet, the Navy's newest multi-role fighter. Jet lets you fly either of these fast, maneuverable machines.

Your aircraft is equipped with a fullscreen Heads Up Display for monitoring instruments and environment simultaneously. Free flight mode gets you started. Then you can select from a variety of land-sea strike or dogfight options to test your combat performance. Jet carries an internal M61 machine gun, and can be fitted with air-to-air missiles. AGM missiles or bombs as required. Standard equipment also includes search radar, an automatic target tracking/sequencing computer, and fully functioning ejection seat.
